Well.... today is my last day here at work. I'm starting my new job this monday, which means a new chapter in my life with new adventures to write about. My time here was good, but like any good thing, it's time to move on. I've been with my current company since July 15, 1998 (officially, but I was hired on april 10, 1998). I've never really had any other job so it's time for me to take the risk, stick my wee wee out and go for broke!! I guess if leaving this company is a mistake, now is the time to make it, since I'm still fairly young. Had I been given this same opportunity 10 years from now, I would be greatly hesitant in leaving, just because my situation then would include a wife, kids, a mortgage and possibly 2 cars to pay for!!
At any rate, please wish me luck on my new endeavor!! I'm gonna be working at a place where there's a lot of hotties with big personalities. There's not much more you can ask for.
Last monday, Eric, Donny, Bern, Martin, Liz and I went to eat dinner at this Thai restaurant in Mira Mesa. Eric, Donny and I just finished basketball practice so we came rolling in with big appetites and smelly armpits. Martin and Bern came in next and Liz came last. While we were yakking it up during dinner, our conversation moved into a talk Martin and Bern had on their way to dinner. They were discussing the Friends show and how the characters from that show immitated our lives, to a degree. So Martin went on to describe how the 6 of us matched up with the 6 friends:
Donny as Monica - not because he's neurotic but because of his culinary skills and the fact that he says "I know!!" better than Monica can!!
Eric as Phoebe - because he is unique and free-spirited as she is and sings just like her too... you should check out his "Smelly Cat" rendition...
Bern as Rachel - cuz she acts like an airhead sometimes and dresses really nice too... and they both have that cutey pie smile!!! awwwwwwww...
Liz as Joey - they thought that Liz was perfect as Joey cuz she gets dates (or gets around like a carnival turnstile)just as much as he does... hehehhe... probably because of her big personalities....
Martin as Chandler - because of his sly wit and sarcastic remarks... personally I thought it was because they were both goofy looking and had weird girlfriends... nyuk nyuk nyuk...
Me as Ross - yes ladies and gentlemen... I am the annoying but lovable Ross... Martin and Bern thought I was perfect as Ross because they laugh at me just as much as they laugh at Ross... he has a strange personality that has to be laughed at, but at the same time, he is loved for who he is (shit, they better!!!)... also probably because I like Monkeys... maybe I should be Gunther... at least he's got nice hair... and NO I will not hook up with Bern... that's like incest!!! ugghhhhhh!!!!
Yup, we had a good laugh at that. I guess it was at this point (or was it when I was gorging down the pad thai...) that I truly realized how blessed I was. To have the friends that I have and for them to be as unique as they are; you can't ask for anything more.
sigh... when I move to Fullerton at the end of the year, it's gonna be a bit of a sad moment for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm gonna be happily married to Dao, but the friendships that I've built up down here in SD will be hard to replace, for we truly made a bond that can't be replicated anywhere else. San Diego will always be my Central Perk.
But then again, there's always the FV crew.... hehhehehehe.... they can be my Buffy crew... hmmm... I wonder who'll play Xander??
