Ok guys... I know it's been over a month since my last entry so I apologize for that. Many things were happening and my interest in my blog account waned through this time. The last month or so has been a trying time for Dao and I. First off, Dao's neice, Katherine Pham, passed away at the tender age of 2 years old from complications brought on by Pneumonia. The shock of that news was too much, even for me, to handle. And to make matters worse, the Southern California fires were going on at about the same time as well. It was as if the devil himself thought the pain of Katherine's death wasn't enough of a load for us to handle. Suffice it to say, those were some of the hard days in both our lives.

But we've moved on. If it wasn't for the inner strength that Dao had, and friends like Donny that gave us support, I don't how we would've handled it. At times like this, it was nice to know that we had some people to fall back on here in San Diego.

If there was anything I ever learned during this time is that adversity is a part of life. But the true test lies in how you deal with it. Do you let it take you down and consume you until there's nothing left of you but an empty shell? Or do you rise above it all like the Phoenix and use it as a source of strength? In the end, it's all up to you.
